Step 1: Wire Drawing

Wire drawing step is a metal processing technique in which metal is passed through a mold under external force during metal pressure processing. The cross-sectional area of the metal is compressed to obtain the required cross-sectional area shape and size. This technical processing method is called metal wire drawing technology. If a regular round steel is forcefully pulled through a hole slightly smaller than its diameter, the diameter of the round steel will decrease and the length will elongate. Repeating this process will further reduce the size of the round steel.

Step 2: Strand Twisting

Strand twisting is carried out using a twisting machine according to the technical requirements of the steel wire rope for the strand. The direction, pitch, diameter, core diameter of the strand, as well as the diameter, tensile strength, toughness number, coating quality, length, etc. of the steel wire used for twisting, must meet the specified requirements. Based on this, rope making steel wire, I-wheel diameter, splitter, pitch roller, deformable device, wire pressing tile, etc. are selected.

Step 3: Rope Closing

The process of arranging the rope strands in a spiral around the centerline of the rope core on a rope combining machine to produce steel wire rope. The assembly of the rope must be strictly carried out in accordance with the manufacturing process regulations of the steel wire rope. Double twisted steel wire rope is usually made by twisting 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, and 8 strands. At present, it can reach up to 36 strands, with a wide variety and complex structure, making it the most widely used steel wire rope.
